Canadian Teak Platform Bed with Floating Nightstands

This is the bed that defined the mid-century bedroom. A long, low teak headboard runs wider than the frame itself, carrying two floating nightstands that seem to hover at either side, each with its own drawer. No separate bedside tables to match, no clutter, just one continuous line of warm grain from end to end.

The platform sits on a recessed plinth base, so the whole frame appears to float above the floor. Solid slats with a centre support rail take a mattress directly, no box spring needed, which keeps the profile low and the look clean.

Stamped Made in Canada, it's a fine example of the Canadian teak furniture that held its own against the best Scandinavian imports of the era. Rich honey tone, crisp edges, and excellent vintage condition throughout.
