We buy mid-century furniture
Sell us your mid‑century furniture
Teak, walnut and rosewood from the 1950s to the 1970s. Send a few photos and we will come back with an offer, usually within one business day. We pick up anywhere in Alberta, and we pay at pickup.
Send photosHow it works
- Send photos. The whole piece, any label or stamp, and any damage up close. Your phone camera is fine.
- Get an offer. We look at what comparable pieces have sold for, the condition and the work it needs, then give you a price. No obligation.
- We pick it up. We bring the truck and the blankets and carry it out. You are paid by e-transfer or cash before it leaves your home.
Damage is fine
We restore every piece in our Edmonton shop: veneer repair, refinishing and new upholstery. Water rings, scratches, loose joints and tired fabric do not scare us off. A piece other buyers pass on can still be worth good money to us.
What we buy
- Sideboards, credenzas and buffets
- Dressers, highboys and nightstands
- Dining tables and chairs
- Coffee tables and side tables
- Desks, bookcases and wall units
- Lounge chairs and sofas, in any upholstery condition
- Bedroom suites and teak platform beds
Danish and Canadian makers especially: R. Huber, RS Associates, Deilcraft, Kaufman, Imperial and Jan Kuypers, Victoriaville, Knechtel, Arne Vodder and Kai Kristiansen. Unmarked pieces with good bones too. How to tell who made yours.
Not a fit: particleboard or laminate, flat-pack, and newer reproductions.
From one chair to a whole house
Selling one piece, or clearing out a parent's home? We buy single pieces, full rooms and whole estates. Executors, realtors and move managers: we work on your schedule and keep it simple for the family. See estates and downsizing. Realtors, move managers and cleanout companies can earn a fee for sending people our way: referral partners.
We pick up anywhere in Alberta
We are based in Edmonton, so we are quickest around the city: St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Leduc, Beaumont and Fort Saskatchewan. Farther out, in Red Deer, Calgary, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat, Grande Prairie, Fort McMurray and everywhere in between, we arrange pickup case by case. Your offer comes back just as fast, and it tells you when we can come.
Questions
How do you decide what to offer?
We price from what comparable pieces have actually sold for, the maker, the condition, and how much restoration it needs. If a piece needs a lot of work, we will tell you why the number is what it is.
Do I need to know who made it?
No. Check inside the top drawer, on the back panel and underneath for a stamp, a metal tag or a paper label, and send a photo of whatever you find. If there is nothing, that is fine too.
Is there any obligation?
None. If the offer does not work for you, that is the end of it.
Do you only buy mid-century?
Mostly. We also buy well-made older solid wood pieces and art deco. If you are not sure, send photos and ask.
I want to keep it. Can you fix it up?
Yes. We refinish and reupholster for customers too. See Refinishing & Upholstery for a quote.
