How to tell if it's Deilcraft

  • Look for the Deilcraft name, sometimes with "by Electrohome" (Electrohome's own signs read "Deilcraft, by/par Electrohome").
  • Check inside drawers and on the back panel for a label or stamp, and photograph it.
  • Expect walnut and teak casegoods: lowboys, credenzas, bedroom suites and occasional tables.
  • Some Electrohome-made furniture may have been sold under other store names, so an unmarked piece can still be worth a look.

About Deilcraft

Electrohome began as Pollock Manufacturing in Kitchener in 1907, became Dominion Electrohome Industries in 1933 and Electrohome Limited in 1967. It made Deilcraft furniture at its Shanley Street plant and registered the Deilcraft trademark in 1961.

Archives show Deilcraft still launching lines in the early 1970s, including the Romana bedroom and a joint show with Flexsteel in Toronto in 1974.
